Dr. Marquez received his master’s and doctor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 1994 and 1998 (UPM). He is currently a full-time Professor in the Dep. of Mechanical Engineering at ETSII-UPM.

Professional Experience
His research work focuses on the Design and Development of High Precision Manufacturing Systems and Polymer Microfabrication Technologies. He has led two research projects in the area of MEMS Micromanufacturing and he has participated as associate researcher in many others. He has led Education Innovation Projects funded by UPM, and currently he is the Head of Education Innovation Group of Manufacturing Engineering. He was a visiting professor at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) in 1996, 2005 and 2009. He has been the Vice-Dean for Internationalization at ETSII-UPM since 2011, and the T.I.M.E. Association UPM delegate since 2018, currently Vice-President.

Professional Experience
Mr. Fernando Blanco´s  professional career started in the bank sector as programmer of control systems for payment methods (ATMs, POS terminals, online sales, etc.)  Afterwards, he reoriented his career towards virtual reality & information modelling. He has 11 years of experience in Building Information Modelling in several positions as head of BIM group in ACCIONA (R&D Department, CAI & Construction). Currently, Mr. Fernando is the president of BuildingSmart Spanish Chapter, ACCIONA´s  BIM Executive Technical Leader, board member on EsBIM initiative, VCP ENCORD platform and UNE Subcommittee AEN/CTN 41/SC 13.  He is also Assistant Professor of Master’s programme in Industrial Engineering of Navarra University and former Professor in Master’s programme in Digital Innovation &Technology (UNED).
